MELBOURNE, FL: In an era where there is tremendous demand for virtualization in the industrial automation industry, Contec DTx (DTx), a technology solutions provider has unveiled an industrial platform, EPC-S2100 that is based on the Intel Industrial Solutions System Consolidation Series. This platform increases the efficiency and optimizes the cost involved using multiple factory functions onto a single high performance, industrial grade virtualized platform.

DTx’s EPC-S2100 industrial platform features a power-efficient, quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with Intel Virtualization Technology and support for common I/O for industrial applications. It is the first platform to be certified by Intel for its latest release of the Intel Industrial Solutions System Consolidation Series software.

“The Intel Industrial Solutions System Consolidation Series platforms enable customers to tap into the benefits of modern virtualization technology faster and easier than ever before. The unique combination of Intel software and DTx hardware simplifies the deployment of applications that run on a range of operating systems designed to run automation workloads to increase factory efficiencies and drive innovation,” says Shahram Mehraban, director of End User Market Development, Intel Industrial and Energy Solutions Division.

“We are excited to work with Intel to bring this product to market. The EPC-S2100 supports our vision to help our customers realize the ‘Factory of the Future’ through automation and virtualization,” commented Brad Jens, EVP, DTx.
